Hanoi House - East Village

We wanted to feature Hanoi House this week because A) we really like it ❤️ and B) it sits right on St. Marks Place, just steps from where the annual Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade 🐶🎃 struts its stuff this Sunday! The street will be packed with costumed pups aplenty — and Hanoi House is the perfect spot for people- and pup-watching with your furry friend in tow.

Hanoi House is a relaxed Vietnamese spot in the East Village 🍜 with sidewalk tables on St. Marks and a cozy, enclosed heated patio 🔥 for chillier days. Their Pho Bac, Spring Rolls, and Shaking Beef are not to be missed — they’re the kind of dishes you’ll still be thinking about the next day. It might look casual, but don’t be fooled — they’ve got a great beer, wine, and cocktail list 🍸 that pairs perfectly with their fresh, flavorful menu. If you’re planning to stop by before or after the parade, definitely snag a reservation — this block will be buzzing! 🐾

Meet Sugar

Sugar is a spirited and adorable 10lb Chihuahua mix with a big personality. She has a knack for finding the coziest spot in the house—whether it's a plush bed or a pile of freshly laundered clothes—where she loves to curl up in a perfect little ball. Once Sugar forms a bond with her person, her loyalty knows no bounds.

This pint-sized dynamo is best suited as the only pet in her home due to some reactivity and resource-guarding tendencies. She thrives on routine, affection, and meaningful one-on-one time with her human. Sugar’s love of food makes her a quick learner, and she would enjoy the mental stimulation of training sessions.

While she adores affection, Sugar also values her space to relax and decompress, making a cozy crate her ideal retreat. She can be wary of strangers and may be leash-reactive, so she’ll need a patient and understanding adopter to help her feel secure. Sugar might also develop separation anxiety, so a home with someone who can spend ample time with her would be ideal.

If you’re looking for a loving and quirky companion who’s ready to be your devoted sidekick, Sugar may just be the one for you! Let's help Sugar find her furever home!
